A quick note

We really want to thank you all for supporting this ride and the message of 800 Meters. The trip has had a few delays and detours, and over the past two weeks the crew has been putting in a lot of hard, long days on the road to make up for some lost time. This is why the updates have been slow coming over the last little while.

Again thank you for your support - and we hope that your Labor Day weekend is safe and fun! Hope to see you on the road!

Kankakee to Highland Park, Illinois

Today the 800 Meters changed the travel plans a little. They were planning on going to Milwaukee before Chicago but Trish needed to fly back home early to see a specialist for her broken foot before she went back to teaching school for the Fall. So, the route had them go through Chicago first and then on to Milwaukee.

Today they started the day in Kankakee, IL. They rode through the south end of Chicago and then stopped in downtown Chicago for a couple pictures. They ended the day in Highland Park, Illinois, just north of Chicago.
Such a fitting reminder for this trip - being on the path to greatness - each day being filled with hard work.

An absolutely beautiful day to be getting back on the road!

Finally, they found David - taking a short cut through a corn field!
This is Uncle Joe and his wife Carol and their daughter MacKenzie with the 800 Meters crew. Perhaps you've noticed Trish's foot. We finally had the first broken bone of the trip and it wasn't even one of the cyclists. Trish was running from a pack of dogs in her 3 inch high flip flops. The good news is that she did out run the dogs but could not keep from falling down at that speed. She broke a bone in her foot but it hasn't kept her down!
